Activities

Lakefront Children's Academy is proud to offer a wide range of activities to enrich your child's academic foundation.

Piano

Private piano lessons are a featured part of our arts curriculum and are available for all full time students, 4 years and older.  Students learn the basic fundamentals of music sight reading in addition to learning tone recognition, basic harmony and being able to identify all the notes of the piano keyboard.

Computer Lab

Our students enjoy weekly computer lab, where classroom concepts are technologically enhanced.  Students master the fundamentals of computer operation while supplementing classroom teachings.

Physical Education Classes

Every Friday, our students can be found working on agility drills, relay races, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, aerobic activities, sports fundamentals, leadership skills and team cooperation with our fantastic coaches.

Language

Spanish is incorporated into our twice daily oral lessons, as well as in each individual classroom.

Enrichment Activities

Earthworks Preschool Science Program

Children are naturally curious, and curiosity is the main ingredient of a good scientist.  Asking the questions "what", "why" and "how" are the first steps to scientific exploration.  Our classroom curriculum is based upon three components:  Classroom discussion, experimentation and hands-on field trips.  Last year, our focus was on "Habitats of the World".  This year, we  will be exploring four brand new "Habitats of North America."  Please note this curriculum is available for Worker Ants and Dolphins

Musikgarten

Musikgarten is a renowned international early childhood curriculum that offers children from birth to age 9 a sequential path towards comprehensive musical skills.  Musikgarten programs ultimately lead students to music literacy and prepare them for all future musical study.  Through music, parents and educators can help students fall in love with music, encourage creativity, experiment with movement, learn listening skills and nurture self-esteem.  We are very excited to be the only preschool in the state of Illinois to be licensed to offer this exciting program and we look forward to watching both you and your child develop musically.
